Hi, I’m Shakira,

a wife, girl mom of two, and the artist behind Kira Silas & Co.

My journey into digital illustration started back in 2021 when I decided to follow my heart and leave my job as an elementary school teacher.
Exploring different art forms, like calligraphy and faceless portraits, eventually led me to my true passion — fashion illustration.
Fast forward to 2024, and Kira Silas & Co. was born.

— My art is inspired by us.

I'm passionate about capturing the grace and femininity of black women in each illustration.

It’s tough navigating the world as a black woman, and it's essential to carve out spaces where we feel seen, valued, and empowered.

With this in mind — each sticker collection draws inspiration from the latest fashion trends within our community, serving as reminders of our beauty; to bring joy to our planning and journaling experience.

My Planning Style

I originally joined the planner community as a minimal planner, obsessing over neatly hand-written spreads. But I’ve quickly switched over to decorative planning and bullet journaling.

Decorative planning has become essential to my self-care and mental wellness routine. It’s therapeutic to mix and match sticker dolls, washi tape, and other deco to turn a blank page into a visual that represents me.

I love sharing my planner spreads and getting inspo from the planner community - be sure to connect with me!

xo,

Kira
